In the realm of Haute Couture, Schiaparelli stands as a heavyweight of creativity and innovation. Daniel Roseberry’s vision has been shaped by his knowledge of the brand and its founder, his impeccable taste and creative prowess, and his ability to capture the very essence of Haute Couture.
For this collection of Schiaparelli, Roseberry revisited the techniques, fabrics, and notions of 20th-century Haute Couture. With his modern eye, he implements complex practices that were somehow left in the past, creating a collection rooted in the beginnings of fashion and the label. Through extravagance and dramatism, he uncovers the past and imprints it with contemporary codes.

The overall collection was sensual and highlighted the feminine curves. The gowns enhanced the hips and shoulders while curving the waist, mimicking the effect of a corset and creating an hourglass silhouette reminiscent of the 1900s. Through Baroque styles, each look was a nod to a vintage perspective of beauty and elegance. The looks were structured to give an architectural and monumental sense.
Ruffles were central to the dresses as interpretations of movement and dramatism. Embroideries and rhinestones were luxurious, adding a sense of delicacy to each look while creating visually striking pieces and interesting motifs. Each detail in the looks was meticulously thought out and executed to deliver a collection where craftsmanship and technical excellence were at the forefront.

Through lavish fabrics, each design was ruled by textures. From soft velvet to delicate lace, shiny satin, and sheer organza, to even ostrich feathers, the show was a delight for the senses. Golden elements were seen in accessories and throughout the designs, as is customary for the label, and trompe l’oeil garments made an appearance as a nod to the origins of the brand and its DNA. Cowboy boots were the contemporary and funky element of the show, disrupting the opulent and timeless parade of gowns.
Attending the event was a display of A-list celebrities, from actresses Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu and Kelly Rutherford to Carla Bruni, Gabrielle Union, and Farida Khelfa. Spotted on the runway were supermodels Kendall Jenner and Mona Tougaard.
