Britt Netta is more than a shoe brand—it’s a testament to dual heritage, feminine strength, and intentional design. Handcrafted in Italy and designed in New York City, each pair marries classic elegance with modern edge. With its sculptural silhouettes and unapologetically confident energy, Britt Netta stands as a modern symbol of the empowered woman. Built on a foundation of integrity and independence, the brand embodies what it means to be both creatively visionary and entrepreneurially fearless.

As a female-founded business, Britt Netta champions the idea that artistry and ambition can—and should—coexist. At a time when many emerging designers are finding their voice, Brittany has crafted a space for slow luxury with meaning, offering shoes that not only elevate the look, but honor the wearer’s journey. We sat down with Brittany Netta, the founder and designer, to talk about her personal path, the meticulous artistry behind her footwear, and the growing momentum of her namesake brand.
IN CONVERSATION
WITH BRITTANY NETTA
SAVOIR: Can you tell us a bit about your upbringing and how your passion for design took root?
Brittany Netta : I grew up in New Jersey and had a wonderful childhood surrounded by creativity. Coming from an artistic family, my parents nurtured my passion for the arts from a young age. Some of my fondest memories are of weekends spent in Manhattan with my family—those trips left a lasting impression on me and deepened my love for the city’s energy and culture. From as early as I can remember, I told my parents that one day I’d go to college in New York and build my life here. And so far, I’ve done exactly that.
S: Did you create as a child? Were there early signs this would be your path?
BN: As a child, art was always my strongest suit. While school and traditional subjects didn’t always come easily to me, I thrived in a creative environment where I could fully express myself. I’ve always been a highly visual person, and at times, I found it challenging to articulate my thoughts with words. But the moment I had the opportunity to express myself through art, it felt like I had found my true voice. That early connection to artistic expression shaped the way I see the world and continues to inspire my work today.
S: Tell us about your time at FIT and how studying abroad shaped your perspective.
BN: My time at FIT was one of the most transformative experiences of my life. I earned a BFA in Fashion Design with a specialization in Haute Couture from the Fashion Institute of Technology. I was also fortunate to spend two years studying abroad in Milan and Florence, where my passion for accessories—especially footwear—truly began.
S: You studied under the creative director of Ferragamo—what impact did that mentorship have on your work?
BN: The most valuable insight I gained from studying under Italian designers, professors, and industry professionals was their deeply emotional approach to design. In contrast, my experience in New York emphasized technical precision and methodology. The Italian way of design was rooted in storytelling and passion. It was eye-opening to see how emotion could drive the creative process in such an expressive way. This dual perspective broadened my understanding of fashion, allowing me to blend both artistry and precision in my own work.
S: What a surreal experience, and I am sure, one you will remember forever. Studying under such an iconic label must have been so inspiring- I can imagine it had a direct impact on your decision to start a label of your own.
S: When did you decide to start your own shoe brand? Was there a defining moment?
BN: I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, inspired largely by watching my father turn his passion for architecture into a thriving business. My parents instilled in me the belief that the most fulfilling dream is the one you create for yourself—a sentiment that carries deep meaning, especially as part of an Italian immigrant family that came to the U.S. in pursuit of opportunity. My love for footwear started early—I was that little girl sneaking into my mom’s closet, slipping into her heels, and playing dress-up for hours. There’s truly nothing like the artistry of Italian footwear—the meticulous craftsmanship, and the slow, intentional process behind every work of art. It’s a passion that has only grown with time.
S: What was it like launching a brand rooted in Italy while living in New York?
BN: Britt Netta is the purest reflection of who I am—Italian made infused with a New York perspective. Every shoe is designed entirely by me and brought to life by master artisans whose years of expertise ensure every detail is executed to perfection. It’s the perfect blend of heritage and modernity.

S:How did it feel to see influential women wearing your shoes so early in the brand’s life?
BN: It’s been kind of a whirlwind to say the least. Seeing women express their unique style while pairing it with our shoes brings me so much joy. I’m deeply thankful for the incredible women who have supported the brand from the start. My greatest accomplishment is knowing that every Britt Netta heel empowers the women who wear them—helping them feel confident, powerful, and effortlessly sexy.
S: What’s next for Britt Netta? Can you give us a glimpse into what you’re building?
BN: This is such an exciting time for us—we’re expanding our footwear categories and launching boots this fall! I can’t wait for this next chapter and to share what we’ve been working on.
S: I had the privilege of trying on the new boot collection, and I must say- I am SO excited about them! And I know everyone else will be too!
S: What advice would you give to young female designers starting out today?
BN: Just go for it—you’ll never feel completely ready, and that’s okay. Start sharing your point of view with the world, and little by little, people will be drawn to seeing through your lens. The key is to believe in your vision wholeheartedly—when you do, others will believe in it too.
S: Let’s talk personal style. What are a few things you’re loving in your closet right now?
BN: A vintage leather Cache trench coat passed down from my mom, chunky bangles, and the Enza Costa Everywhere Pant.
S: Any trends you’re especially excited to wear this year?
BN: I don’t focus on trends—I gravitate toward pieces that resonate with me emotionally. I’ve been working on curating a capsule wardrobe of timeless essentials, prioritizing quality over quantity.
S: I love that answer, as I feel a genuine shift in the industry with women leaning more towards a timeless ensemble, and your shoe collections definitely fill that new mold – classics that will stay with you for years to come.
S: How would you describe your personal style in three words?
BN: Bold, elevated, timeless.
S: And finally—your favorite Britt Netta pair right now, and how you’re styling it?
BN: We just launched our best-selling style, the Esme Slingback, in a lower heel height—to say I’m obsessed is an understatement. Not only is she incredibly comfortable, but she’s also effortlessly chic.
