When it comes to healthy, shiny hair, it all starts with a balanced, nourished scalp. MONPURE gets this, which is why the brand focuses on creating products that support both the scalp and hair. With clean, sustainable ingredients and formulas free from sulfates, parabens, and silicones, MONPURE’s mission is to provide gentle yet effective solutions for scalp issues like dryness and irritation. Ultimately, each product is designed to give hair the healthy foundation it needs to grow long and strong.
To learn more about the brand and what’s next for the haircare industry, we chatted with founder and CEO Nate Bigger. He shared the inspiration behind the brand, what makes his products stand out, and how MONPURE is leading the way with a fresh, holistic approach to hair wellness.

The brand was born from Bigger’s personal experience, spending much of his time backstage at fashion shows where he saw firsthand the damage caused by excessive styling, heat, and chemical treatments on models’ hair. “Many lost hair season after season, yet there were no real solutions addressing the root cause—only products that masked damage rather than preventing it,” Bigger says. “I wanted to create a brand that focused on long-term hair health and helped people protect their hair identity, along with their confidence.”
Speaking of long-term hair health, Bigger noticed that traditional haircare often prioritizes quick fixes (like making hair less frizzy or smoother) without considering its overall health or, more importantly, the condition of the scalp. “Many products are designed to coat the hair rather than nourish the scalp, often using ingredients that can clog follicles or cause long-term damage,” explains Bigger. “The skin on the scalp is more sensitive than people realize, with more blood vessels and interruptions in the skin barrier. That’s why keeping your scalp healthy is a game changer—it sets up hair to be stronger and healthier.“
Due to that, MONPURE has an ingredient-first focus, formulating products that’ll actually be effective. It’s the first brand on the market to experiment with retinol in haircare, an ingredient that has widely only been used on skin. “Retinol encourages cell turnover on the scalp, helping to improve cell turnover and help with the absorption of other ingredients,” explains Bigger. “Every ingredient we use is carefully researched to ensure it supports both scalp health and long-term hair vitality.”

As for if that approach is paying off, we’d say so. MONPURE has won over 65 awards, with some of the highlights including winning Good Housekeeping’s Tried and Tested awards for the “Best Hair Growth Serum” and “Best Anti-Breakage Shampoo and Conditioner.” The brand has also won awards in Essence Magazine, Women’s Health Magazine, and W Magazine, among others, showing just how much recognition it’s getting in the beauty world.
Speaking of recognition, the brand’s mission and importance on scalp health have also made waves. “Scalp care is becoming as important as skincare, and I believe we’ll continue to see more innovation in this space,” says Bigger. “Consumers are starting to treat their scalps with the same level of care as their faces, opting for targeted treatments and clinically-backed ingredients.” This shift is changing the game in haircare, with consumers now understanding that a healthy scalp is key to healthy hair. It’s no longer just about a quick fix–people want long-term results, and they’re choosing products that offer exactly that. MONPURE is right at the heart of this change, bringing science-backed solutions that focus on lasting scalp and hair health.
As for what’s next? MONPURE will soon be launching new products that’ll cater to a wider range of hair types and concerns. “We’ll continue to be ambitious and lead the way in creating groundbreaking stories in the hair care industry,” Bigger says. “While we can’t reveal too much just yet, we’re thrilled to push the boundaries of scalp and hair science in the luxury beauty sector.”
